Background to the Dermasalve range of moisturising products.

As a practising GP Dr Tom Gilhooly with extensive Dermatology experience, had become increasingly aware of the number of patients who had presented with skin reactions to various moisturising creams they were using. It was not only the products bought in the high street but also those on prescription some of which had been prescribed to treat the very reactions they were causing!

With a bit of research DermaSalve discovered that ALL the products currently available in the UK contained one, or more, skin sensitizers. Skin sensitizers are ingredients which are known to cause irritation to the skin, often in the form of itchy and sore patches.

There was not one single range of non irritant moisturising creams available either over the counter or on prescription. They realised that there was a real need for just such a product, so after 3 years of development with other healthcare professionals, the Dermasalve range of moisturisers was created.

With no alcohol, fragrances, parabens, lanolin or other irritants Dermasalve creams represent a whole new approach to the treatment of dry and sensitive skin. No other specialist moisturising cream is as compositionally ‘pure’, and therefore minimises the risk of skin irritation to such a degree. Dr Gilhooly now feels confident that his patients with sensitive skin have access to products that they both can trust to improve their skin condition without irritation.
