Linola® Gamma Cream
Linola® Gamma Cream is a sophisticated new unperfumed emollient with a
pleasant natural smell, which works by introducing moisture into the upper layer
of the skin. This restores smoothness and reduces dryness. Linola® Gamma Cream
is suitable for treating all chronic and acute dry skin conditions, including
eczema and neurodermatitis.
Linola® Gamma Cream contains 20% w/w,
standardised pharmaceutical grade Evening Primrose Oil, in a highly cosmetic,
lipid-rich base. This formulation allows replenishment of Linoleic and
Gamma-Linolenic acid, two naturally occurring essential fatty acids, (often
poorly absorbed from diet), that play a fundamental role in the maintenance of
healthy skin. Evening Primrose oil 20% w/w as active substance, (nut oil is not
included in the Linola® Gamma formulation, and our product has not been tested
on animals).
Linola® Gamma Cream is equally
suitable for babies and patients of all ages, and is easy and economical to
apply. It israpidly and almost completely absorbed by the skin, leaving little
residue to soil clothing or bed clothes. At the same time, the high lipid
content in Linola® Gamma Cream provides a protective, moisture-retaining film to
the skin, which swells the stratum corneum skin layer and closes cracks in the
skin to restore the protective ‘epidermal barrier'.
Linola® Gamma Cream’s cooling emollient effect also provides relief from the
pruritis (itching) associated with dry skin conditions. Furthermore, the
gamma-Linolenic acid fatty contained in Linola® Gamma Cream, is itself active
against the inflammation that leads to pruritis.
Linola® Gamma Cream is ideal for use in conjunction with topical steroids and
the new topical immunomodulatory drugs used for treating eczema.
In
spite of this long list of ingredients, (which is in fact similar to those found
in the majority of creams), Linola® Gamma is one of very few creams licensed for
use in newly born babies.
